The famous Telecaster used by Bob Dylan in 1966 with his band (the Band), is being put up for auction. The sale is expected to bring in about $400,000 to $600,000.
In 2013 Dylan also sold his Stratocaster at auction for a staggering amount of $965,000.
“The 1965 Fender Telecaster Bob Dylan used during his first electric tour will be put on the block as part of Julien’s Auctions’ upcoming Music Icons sale, set to take place May 19th. The instrument is expected to fetch between $400,000 and $600,000, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the American Indian College Fund.
Dylan used the Telecaster during his first electric tour in 1966 with his backing band, the Hawks (later renamed the Band). The musician played the Telecaster throughout the Sixties and Seventies, though the Band singer-guitarist Robbie Robertson remained its owner.”
