Thats Why She’s “The Godmother of Rock and Roll”

Rosetta Tharpe Paved the Way for Rock N’ Roll Back in the Early 1960s

Back in the 1960s Rock and Roll music was still in its infancy and was constantly being formed by upcomming artists.

This African American women, all dressed up in true classic fifties/sixties style really showed the British people, and inspired an entire nation, what the future of Rock N’ Roll would look like, and certainly sound like.

Rosetta was a true inspiration and it still is amazing to see how she plays the electric guitar, sings and dances a little, completely out of what would normally be the comfort zone for women back then… and especially for an African-American women

Really cool. Watch how she plays the solo at 2:38

Just sit back and enjoy this
